About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients in a correctional environment under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Coordinator. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by a Physician and within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for an LPN. The position pays $24 per hour and is part-time, every other weekend. Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited vocational or technical school.
Current and valid LPN or LVN license.
Current CPR certification.
At least one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as an LPN.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a correctional health care setting.

Responsibilities

Respond to and intervene in emergency situations.
Complete patient intake paperwork.
Verify and obtain orders for patient medication.
Conduct sick call clinics.
Order and maintain the supply of patient medication from the pharmacy.
Administer medications in accordance with nursing standards and correctional regulations.
Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collection of ordered laboratory tests.
Assist the provider with Chronic Care Clinic and provider sick call visits.
Monitor, report, and document changes in patients’ conditions.
Accurately document patient information, nursing care, and interventions.
Ensure daily nursing tasks are completed within the prescribed timeframe.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.
Follow QCHC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
