About The Position

AMG Physical Rehabilitation Hospital – Lafayette is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for day shifts. The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care addressing patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs, and communicates with patients and families. The role is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and requires initiative and responsibility consistent with professional expectations. The LPN maintains regulatory requirements and follows nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards. The position also involves performing general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. The hospital is a free-standing, 32-bed specialty hospital providing inpatient rehabilitation services in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Current Louisiana LPN licensure.
Current BLS certification.
Minimum of six months to one year of work experience.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Strong background with previous nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care addressing psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
Maintain regulatory agency requirements and follow nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
Communicate with physicians and team members about changes in a patient's clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptoms.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment.
Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
