About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team at the Fayetteville Family Medical Center. This role is crucial in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a designated group of patients. Requirements

High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
Associates Degree in Nursing.
One (1) year of work experience in clinical nursing.
Current Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse license.
Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of work experience in a clinical environment with direct patient care.
Good working knowledge of the state immunization registry, care manager.
PCMH experience and care management experience.

Responsibilities

Direct patient care within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas, UAMS policies, procedures, and standards.
Adhering to UAMS care guidelines.
Observing patients, charting, and reporting changes in patients’ conditions.
Providing basic care and treatment of patients.
Administering prescribed medications and starting intravenous fluids.
Measuring and recording the patient’s vital signs.
Assisting patients in standing, walking, bathing, dressing, and moving in bed.
Supervising nurses’ aides and assistants.
Answering patient calls and determining how to assist them.
Collecting samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients and performing routine laboratory tests on samples.
Cleaning rooms and making beds.
Inventorying and requisitioning supplies and instruments.
Recording food and fluid intake and output.
