License Practical Nurse Emergency Department
About The Position
Under supervision of an RN, performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re-assesses as per policy. Provides direct care and indirect patient care services that meet psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. Revises plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment. Assists in formulation of a teaching plan based on identified patient learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the RN. Meets current documentation standards and policies. Communicates with Social Services regarding patient needs. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. Ability to perform treatments and provide services according to scope of practice.
Requirements
- Current LPN licensure in New York State
- BCLS required
- Basic computer skills
- Child abuse Certification
