Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN - Emergency Department
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, this role supports urgent and emergent patient care, focusing on patient safety, rapid response, and quality outcomes. This is a full-time night position with 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Compensation is $27.00 to $30.75 per hour. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply and will be discussed during the interview process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
- IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.

Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside care in a high-volume emergency setting.
- Monitor vital signs, patient condition, and changes in acuity.
- Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws.
- Support trauma, triage, and emergency interventions.
- Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and care teams.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to Emergency Department protocols.
- Document care in EMR/EHR systems.
- Communicate changes in patient condition quickly and accurately.
