About The Position
PAM Health is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse to deliver care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. Under the direction of the unit RN, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the LPN uses the nursing process to provide direct care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients who require extended hospitalization. The role collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to carry out individualized care plans and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if the state participates.
- Current BLS certification; certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
- Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required by state regulations.
Nice To Haves
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals, including Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, and Speech Language Pathologists, to assist in carrying out individualized care plans.
- Gather and report data, carry out orders, and perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age- and population-appropriate manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
