About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct nursing care to residents as part of an interdisciplinary team and plans, supervises, and evaluates the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. The role includes coordinating staff responsibilities and resident care, supporting associates, monitoring compliance with facility policies, and contributing to quality improvement and regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate responsibilities of supervised nursing staff, ensuring care is aligned with staff qualifications, resident acuity, duties, and facility layout.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to assigned associates.
• Assist the Director of Nursing or designee with reviewing department policies, procedures, and job descriptions and recommending revisions when requested.
• Implement and monitor compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan and communicate resident care services, activities, concerns, and needs; develop staff assignments as indicated.
• Coordinate with other resident services to ensure individual care plans are followed.
• Participate in facility quality improvement discussions concerning residents, personnel, and facility operations.
• Meet regularly with nursing service and facility personnel to identify and correct problem areas or improve services.
• Review complaints from assigned personnel and communicate them to the Director of Nursing or designee as appropriate.
• Participate in surveys conducted by authorized regulatory agencies.
• Participate in resident admissions, transfers, and discharges as required.
