About The Position
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) practice at their full scope and may engage in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs and services to improve patient outcomes. The role executes an optimal plan of care in a shared governance environment. This is a full-time, onsite Med/Surg position at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, New York, working nights. No travel is expected; weekends and holidays are assigned.
Requirements
- Active New York nursing license; out-of-state nurses are eligible to apply.
- Completion of an accredited LPN program.
- BLS certification. New hires may obtain required certifications during the introductory period.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and co-workers.
- Dispense medication within scope of practice and document accurately in patients’ electronic medical records.
- Obtain and accurately record data related to patient care in patients’ electronic medical records.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in a patient’s mental or emotional condition to the RN, including changes in vital signs, abnormal weight gain or loss, and increased pain.
- Respond promptly to call bells and patient needs.
