About The Position

Benchmark at Bedford Falls is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The role works as part of a team of associates supporting residents and building lasting relationships with them. The schedule is full-time nights, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Requirements

• Current state license as an RN and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with supporting resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
