About The Position

Maplewood at Newtown is hiring a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist and support the Resident Services Director with the implementation, delivery, and coordination of nursing services in the community. The listed schedule is Tuesday 3 p.m.–11 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday 3 p.m.–8 p.m. The posting also notes part-time/per-diem shifts. The role provides care and support to residents and their families in a senior living community.

Requirements

• Currently hold a Licensed Practical Nurse license to practice in the state.
• Have two years of full-time or full-time-equivalent clinical experience.
• Have experience and/or a special interest in working with older adults.
• Be able to perform potentially physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
• Be in good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications.
• Provide direct care and services to residents.
• Provide teaching and wellness counseling.
• Promote health.
• Participate in assessments under the supervision of the Resident Services Director (RN).
• Support residents and families.
• Oversee Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Train associates and audit care.
• Complete monthly in-service training as required.
