About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The position offers flexible per diem hours and an hourly rate of $33.50 to $37.50. The LPN joins a supportive team and helps build lasting relationships with residents and fellow associates.

Requirements

• Current state LPN license and CPR certification.
• Graduation from an approved LPN program, as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with older adults in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, communicate, and document residents’ status accurately.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, RCAs, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants; mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in their work.
• Coordinate residents’ care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including financial exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources as required by state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
