Requirements

  • Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting.
  • At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with treatments, and supporting activities of daily living
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications and record all related actions accurately
  • Provide first aid, CPR, or AED support during medical emergencies as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and prepare reports needed for care continuity
  • Communicate important information to nursing, custody, and administrative staff to support safe operations
  • Sterilize equipment and maintain proper inventory levels for treatment areas
