About The Position

Management & Training Corporation is seeking an on-call Licensed Practical Nurse for its Graceville Correctional Facility. The role provides care in a mixture of acute and chronic-care settings, including emergencies handled in the onsite ER suite and chronic disease management. The work supports an incarcerated population, including patients who may have had limited access to healthcare before incarceration.

The LPN works under the direction of the health services administrator, supervising nurse, and professional service providers, following approved treatment protocols and applicable policies and procedures. The position is PRN, with 12-hour shifts scheduled from either 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The stated rate of pay is $31.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of related experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
• Current, valid vocational nursing license for Florida or a compact state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess the condition of detainees reporting to sick call and provide treatment under approved protocols and the direction of designated healthcare personnel.
• Assist with provider line and prepare the examination room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, administer medications, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures; push or wheel the pill cart around the facility campus as needed.
• Control medications, syringes, medical supplies, and equipment as required.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and contact a physician for treatment orders.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation.
• Assess and treat patients according to protocol.
• Administer injections and plant PPDs.
