LPN Full-Time Night Shift

About The Position

Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital, a UHS facility, is a 144-bed behavioral health facility providing inpatient services for adolescents, adults, and older adults, as well as behavioral health assessments and programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care in accordance with nursing care plans and patients’ treatment plans, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu. This is a full-time night-shift position, scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating holidays and every other weekend.

Requirements

Graduate of an LPN nursing program.
Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications, and their correct administration.
Currently licensed to practice by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care according to nursing care plans and patients’ treatment plans.
Participate with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
Assist with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion, and restraint under the direction of the registered nurse.
Assist the registered nurse with patient admissions and discharges.
Administer medications and treatments to patients.
Assist with medication education, informed consent, and monitoring medication effectiveness and efficacy.
Document medication and treatment administration according to policies and procedures.
