Licensed Practical Nurse- ALL SHIFTS
About The Position
Boca Recovery Center is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its Medical Services team in Springfield, Massachusetts. The LPN supports clients’ medical needs throughout their recovery by providing direct patient care, monitoring health concerns, completing medical documentation, and assisting with health-related programming while maintaining high standards of care and compliance. The role is onsite and involves 12-hour shifts. The nurse must be available to work weekends, have schedule flexibility, and be available for overtime if required. The position reports to the Director of Nursing (DON).
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential in Massachusetts.
- CPR certification, maintained throughout employment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, with schedule flexibility.

- Experience in a substance abuse, psychiatric, or related healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor infection control practices and follow reporting procedures.
- Conduct urinalysis toxicology screenings and document results.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by providers.
- Triage medical issues and perform focused patient assessments within scope of practice.
- Document client symptoms, treatments, and health-related concerns in the EMR.
- Maintain communication with scheduling coordinators and medical providers.
- Support health education groups, such as HIV/Hepatitis and Nutrition groups, and complete related documentation.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
- Maintain accurate logs, shift reports, and other medical records.
- Report significant questions, concerns, and complaints to supervising staff.
- Assist in training Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) on medical protocols.
- Maintain regular, prompt attendance and be available for overtime if required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
