LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Convenient Care
About The Position
Geisinger Convenient Care is a walk-in clinic providing quick, convenient healthcare for family health needs, including physicals, immunizations, and treatment of common illnesses and minor health issues. The clinic serves patients age one and older. This per diem/additional Licensed Practical Nurse position provides primary clinical support to providers, patients, and families to assist with diagnosis and treatment. The LPN follows up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record, supporting continuity and quality of care. The role also promotes a clean clinical environment and provides care to patients within the age range assigned to the clinical area. Typical schedule opportunities include Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. The work is typically performed in a clinical environment. New and experienced LPN applicants are welcome.
Requirements
- Graduate from a nursing specialty training program.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Skills in communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork.

- At least one year of nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, and vital signs; provide a basic medical database for the provider and prepare patients for examinations.
- Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
- Assist the provider with minor surgical and diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
- Execute and document ongoing patient communication as directed by the provider, prioritize communication to the provider, and respond to patient questions and requests.
- Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under provider direction and within scope of practice.
- Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases; maintain required asepsis and ensure instruments, equipment, and patient preparations are available.
- Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record.
