About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides licensed nursing services to residents in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations. The role includes medication administration, resident assessments and care planning, responding to health changes and emergencies, and communicating with physicians, families, and staff. The nurse may also support admissions and discharges, clinical tracking, documentation, and educational meetings for residents and staff.
Requirements
- Training from an accredited licensed or vocational nursing program.
- General nursing education.
- At least 1 year of experience in senior care or a related field.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of practice.
- CPR certification.
- Acceptable English proficiency to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and respond to emergencies.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and effectively.
- High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations calmly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents in compliance with federal and state regulations and company guidelines.
- May complete new-resident admissions, including admission assessments and documentation.
- Complete acute and long-term care plans or service plans.
- May track clinical matters such as wounds or infection control under the director’s direction.
- Provide general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
- Notify physicians and/or family members of changes in residents’ health and provide appropriate documentation.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Maintain close communication with departments and staff members.
- Provide educational meetings for residents and staff.
- Understand the role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
- May complete discharges, assessments, and clinical documentation as needed.
