About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse works in a residential setting supporting individuals with disabilities. The role includes administering medications and treatments, providing hands-on care as needed, monitoring residents’ health and safety, responding to health-related concerns, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with health and safety protocols. The nurse may also support and guide overnight staff to help maintain a calm, consistent, and well-informed environment. The posting describes the role as overnight, but separately lists a Monday–Friday, 8–4 schedule with some flexibility to meet program needs. The work location is Ontario County, New York.
Requirements
- Hold a current, valid New York State Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Possess a valid New York State driver’s license that meets Agency Driver standards.
- Have no lifting restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing duties within the NYSED Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice.
- Maintain current medical, medication, anecdotal, and immunization records for assigned individuals at the required daily, monthly, and/or annual intervals.
- Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications according to physicians’ orders.
- Maintain accurate records of physicians’ orders and the acquisition, storage, and disposal of medications.
- Provide hands-on care as needed and monitor residents’ health and safety.
- Respond to health-related concerns and follow health and safety protocols.
- Support and guide overnight staff.
