Mark Twain Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE or REGISTERED NURSE for our KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI location. This position provides clinical nursing services under the supervision of a medical provider in an outpatient clinic setting to a wide range of individuals including youth to adults.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Nursing Program
- Current Missouri nursing license: LPN or RN
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities
- Triage for level of care
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed to stabilize acute crisis
- Conduct assessments which may include brief medical screens, crisis assessment, physical and mental health assessments, substance use/withdrawal screening and psychiatric screening
- Provide nursing services within scope of practice and per direction of medical providers
- Establish and maintain a professional and positive relationship with the medical providers and community stakeholders
- Complete appropriate clinical data in a timely manner and document in the medical record
- Facilitate medication consult with medical provider
- Assist with escribing prescriptions and refills to pharmacies per provider orders
- Evaluate medications for right medication, right dosage, right patient and communicate with medical providers for medication changes
- Monitor and log all medication administration to comply with DMH standards
- Consult with employees as requested regarding medications, crisis and other necessary issues
- Conduct in-service training for MTBH employees on health or medication related topics
- Attend staff meetings with clinical staff and medical providers
- Provide care and oversight of clients in collaboration with other team members
- Educate clients regarding their illness and their medications
- Serve as a liaison for MTBH clients to their medical provider
- Coordinate disease management services and program
- Adherence to the MTBH Ethical Code of Conduct and all policies is required.
