Licensed Practical Nurse /Medical Assistant | Pediatrics | Day Shift | Full-time
About The Position

As an LPN/Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside a dedicated pediatric team providing immunizations, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, administering nebulizer treatments, performing newborn and well-child screenings, and supporting a variety of pediatric clinical services. Requirements
- Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida.
- Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
- Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAMA and AMT.
- EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification.
- Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida OR must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant.
- AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
- Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred (for LPN).
- One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred (for MA).
- Person should display initiative and have the ability to multitask.
- Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills are required for the ideal candidate (for LPN).
- Person should display initiative, have the ability to multitask, and be able to assume additional responsibilities (for MA).
- Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential (for MA).
Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Place patients in exam rooms.
- Prepare patients for exams/procedures.
- Assist the health care provider with exams/procedures.
- Provide patient support during exams.
- Maintain medical supply inventory and stocking exam rooms.
- Administer medications.
- Process patient phone calls per practice protocols.
- Instruct patients regarding health care and treatments.
- Provide health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status.
- Perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions.
- Float to other practices, as needed, for staffing.
