About The Position
TK Health Clinics has an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Canadian County Jail in El Reno, Oklahoma. This role offers a change from traditional hospital, clinic, or long-term care settings, providing the chance to use a broad range of clinical skills while caring for a diverse patient population in a safe, structured, and secure environment. The position is full-time with 12-hour day shifts and rotating weekends, offering more days off during the week and broad hands-on nursing experience with both acute and chronic healthcare needs. You will work collaboratively with an experienced healthcare team.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted LPN license
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to successfully complete a thorough background investigation
- Dependable and comfortable working as part of a healthcare team
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
Nice To Haves
- Correctional healthcare experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Providing direct nursing care based on individual patient needs
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered
- Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
- Responding to acute healthcare needs
- Assisting with ongoing management of chronic conditions
- Documenting patient care accurately and timely
- Communicating changes in patient condition to the appropriate provider
- Collaborating with RNs, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
- Following established nursing standards, policies, and procedures
- Working within the scope of practical nursing under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse
