About The Position

Sutton Park Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing has an ongoing need for part-time Licensed Practical Nurses. Shifts are available from 7–3 and 3–11. The position is at a CPT-approved site, is part-time, and offers no benefits. The successful candidate must be available on weekends and some holidays. The LPN works under the supervision of a registered nurse or doctor and provides basic patient care with compassion, patience, and calm.

Requirements

• Valid New York State LPN license.
• Availability to work weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record patients’ medical histories.
• Take and record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
• Observe patients under treatment to identify progress and medication side effects.
• Monitor patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, and maintain patient charts.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
• Administer injections, prescribed medications, and enemas; clean and dress wounds; and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
• Collect samples for laboratory testing as assigned.
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
• Communicate with patients’ family members or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
