About The Position

Southwoods Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Orthopedic team in Boardman. The primary focus of this role is Surgery Scheduling; however, the LPN will also assist with daily clinical workloads, answer patient phone calls, and draw up medications as needed.

Requirements

Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
Minimum of 1+ years of direct patient care experience required.
Strong organizational skills, deep empathy, and a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience in a physician’s office or ambulatory setting is highly preferred.
Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional care.
Receive specific procedural orders from physicians and coordinate scheduling with respective treatment facilities.
Send necessary medical documentation to treatment facilities and effectively communicate all preoperative orders (such as medication instructions) to patients.
Answer incoming calls and address clinical messages from patients regarding medical concerns.
Draw up medications and assist Medical Assistants with rooming patients when clinical workloads dictate.
Maintain absolute patient privacy and ensure the office remains fully compliant with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, ODH, BOP, TJC, etc.).
Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
