Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant - Minden Physician Practices
About The Position
Minden Medical Center is seeking a well-organized, energetic LPN/ Medical Assistant to support Minden Physicians Practices in a busy clinic setting. This role exists to help deliver smooth, timely patient care and strong provider support across MPP locations. As an LPN/ Medical Assistant, your week has a clear rhythm: you’ll work a 7am–7pm shift every Friday at MMC of Haughton Clinic, then float to other MPP clinics the rest of the week. You’ll start by getting oriented to the day’s patient flow, connect with the provider team on priorities, and move steadily through appointments while keeping documentation current in Athena. Between patient visits, you’ll coordinate quick handoffs, respond to time-sensitive needs, and help keep rooms stocked and ready so schedules stay on track from morning to evening.
Requirements
- Current Louisiana LPN license or Medical Assistant certification
- Physician office experience preferred
- AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and preparing exam spaces
- Assisting with procedures and administering care within scope
- Performing basic clinical testing (e.g., spirometry, glucose checks) and documenting in Athena EHR
- Coordinating messages, orders, and follow-up communication with patients and the care team
- Using standard clinical and office equipment safely and accurately
