About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct patient care within the scope of nursing practice and state regulations. Working in the Medical Surgical (Med Surg) department, the LPN/LVN collaborates with Registered Nurses (RNs) and the healthcare team to support patient safety, comfort, and a positive patient experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Medical Surgical (Med Surg) unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient conditions, and changes in health status.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered and permitted by licensure.
• Support the implementation of patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Document patient care and observations in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Maintain infection control standards and patient safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
