In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and under the supervision of the professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care and administers medications to patients. This role involves participating in the nursing process, giving direct nursing care, contributing to the plan of care, performing patient data collection and observation, administering medications and treatments, performing phlebotomy services, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. The LPN is responsible for recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition, adhering to safety policies, delegating tasks appropriately, and complying with HIPPA and OSHA policies. Infection control procedures are also a key part of this role.
