About The Position

This Acute Care position includes a mix of Med/Surg and Telemetry patients. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for contributing to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. They perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication. The LPN documents patient care provided, assists the RN with the development of the plan of care, and assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. They monitor, document, and communicate patient status and responses to interventions with the RN, physician, patient, and family. The LPN advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient, participates in performance improvement and continuing education, and provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.

Requirements

  • Current VA or compact state LPN license.
  • Graduate of a practical school of nursing.
  • AHA BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Meditech experience preferred
  • Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
