About The Position

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare, located in Staunton, Virginia, is a 42-bed facility providing trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment to adolescent males experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. The facility specializes in working with youth with psychiatric disorders, co-occurring intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. Liberty Point offers a safe and supportive environment that values the nursing profession and patient care. Nurses have the opportunity to provide excellent care, comfort, and security to patients and families. The facility is part of a large, nationwide network of peer nurses and nursing leaders, offering opportunities for growth, learning, and advancement through programs like Charge, Supervisor, and Nurse Manager-in-training, as well as a nursing executive tract. Robust continuing education options, skills diversification, and career advancement opportunities are available for both Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with UHS. Requirements

  • Current license to practice nursing in State of Virginia (or eligible to receive or renew)
  • Current BLS certification preferred (can renew as part of New Employee Orientation)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire
  • Ability to successfully complete and pass all components of Handle With Care & Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training
  • Ability to use and supervise Handle With Care (HWC) techniques
  • Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and via written documentation
  • Liberty Point is a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace.
  • A pre-hire drug screen, pre-hire background checks, and education verification are required of all new employees.
