The Lead LPN will provide clinical support and oversight of clinical staff and, in collaboration with the Lead Physician and Ambulatory Office Manager, ensure efficient and optimal patient care is delivered to the patients in the practice. This role involves ensuring standards of clinical practice and infection control are maintained, overseeing that all clinical standards and administrative policies are practiced and upheld by support staff, and certifying clinical support staff annually in waive testing. The Lead LPN will collaborate with the Ambulatory Office Manager to ensure staff attend orientation, annual recertification, and yearly physicals, and will oversee that daily quality controls are performed. Additionally, the role involves developing and overseeing a cleaning and stocking assignment and schedule for support staff, ensuring an adequate level of medical supplies, maintaining the medication room, and ensuring lab logs are maintained. The Lead LPN will also have oversight of clinical staff in conjunction with the Ambulatory Office Manager, assessing and evaluating staff performance, assigning staff to work with providers, addressing staffing shortfalls, and handling provider concerns with regard to clinical staff, including counseling and disciplinary action. Monitoring staff time and approving time off requests, while ensuring adequate staffing, is also a key responsibility. The role contributes to the efficiency of clinical operations by making recommendations to improve efficiency and physician productivity, attending leadership meetings, and collaborating with other leads to ensure consistency in processes. Clinical support includes performing injections, working with providers, and providing patient and family teaching as needed. Other duties as assigned.
