About The Position

Florida Parishes Human Services Authority is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse 3 for its outpatient Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Program/Clinic in Mandeville, Louisiana. The clinic offers emergency substance use treatment and supports clients as they work toward recovery goals, prioritizing client input and harm reduction. The LPN provides continuous, quality direct nursing care and supports clinic operations. The two vacancies are probational appointments. The position offers a special entrance rate of $22.30–$33.08 per hour and is eligible for an additional $1.00 per hour for hours spent performing direct patient care. The clinic operates from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Requirements

• Hold a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
• Have two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.

Responsibilities

• Perform individualized direct client care.
• Assist with intake processes for new clients, handle and route calls, and upload documents to the electronic health record.
• Deliver and administer prescribed therapeutic medication doses, including injections, and maintain the clinic’s medication supply.
• Collect fees from self-pay clients and collect urine drug screen fees, co-pays, or deductibles, processing them according to agency procedure.
• Schedule follow-up appointments to support continued care.
• Participate as a member of the treatment team in assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
• Continuously assess medications and provide verbal and written medication information to the person receiving services and others responsible for support.
