About The Position

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) on Day Shift at the Waterloo Medical Center. The purpose of this position is to provide physical therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, document patient treatment, and adhere to MercyOne's performance expectations and perform all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.

Requirements

• Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program or equivalent.
• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Iowa.
• Mandatory Reporter; BLS; FIM.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) (Contract Therapy only).
• Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, competently provides treatment to patients.
• Communicates relevant patient information.
• Provides education to patients and families.
• Supervises students and volunteers.
• Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies/procedures.
