About The Position

The Licensed Optician ensures delivery of the Target Optical Way and the Guest Experience. The role embraces the mindsets of being people focused, collaborative, accountable to results, thinking differently, and keeping the experience simple, fun, and in style. The optician helps guests find fashionable eyewear, accurately fits and dispenses products, and supports the store’s sales goals and operational standards.

The position also builds awareness of Target Optical by attracting guests from the host store, develops professional partnerships with the Target Optical doctor and Target Host, and follows operating policies and procedures. These include training, implementing approved marketing and merchandising programs and promotions, completing sales transactions accurately, and using sales strategies and resources.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Optician license as required by the state.
• At least 1 year of experience in retail or customer service.
• Basic computer skills.
• Selling skills.

• Accuracy in measurements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily sales goals through consistent execution of Guest Experience behaviors.
• Provide a simple, fun, and fashionable experience through the Playground Rules.
• Build brand awareness by attracting new guests from the Target host store to Optical.
• Develop and maintain professional business partnerships with the Target Optical doctor and Target Host.
• Model the Target Optical Personal Style Dress Code.
• Create a positive guest experience by accurately fitting and dispensing fashionable products.
• Follow operating policies and procedures, including training and timely, accurate implementation of approved marketing and merchandising programs and promotions.
• Accurately complete all sales transactions and use available sales strategies and resources.
• Ensure accuracy in all transactions and interactions with guests.
