About The Position

America's Best, part of National Vision, is hiring a Licensed Optician - Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations of the eyeglass department. The role supports store personnel management and inventory control while helping deliver a positive customer experience. The Assistant Manager works with the General Manager to meet sales, profit, service, and performance goals, maintain operational standards, and support the development and retention of store associates. Stores are closed on Sundays.

Requirements

Maintain an optical license as required by the state.
Optical sales experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
ABO and NCLE certification.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive, monitor, and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
Monitor retail operating costs, budgets, and resources.
Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Identify opportunities for improvement and create action plans.
Commit to outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide the same.
Ensure quality standards are met.
Ensure effective merchandising and execution of marketing, pricing promotions, and initiatives according to Brand and Company standards.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates, and in some stores the Receptionist, while ensuring timely completion of daily functions.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining a high-caliber staff.
Lead and coach associates toward sales and customer service goals.
Mentor potential Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
