About The Position

America’s Best, part of National Vision, is seeking a Licensed Optician - Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the eyeglass department and help deliver a positive customer experience. The role supports store performance through personnel management, inventory control, customer service, and operational execution. The position helps ensure customers receive affordable, accessible eye care and eyewear, while supporting associates and contributing to a well-run store. America's Best stores are closed every Sunday.

Requirements

Maintain an optical license as required by the state.
Optical sales experience.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
ABO and NCLE certification.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive, monitor, and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
Monitor retail operating costs, budgets, and resources.
Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Identify areas of opportunity and create action plans for improvement.
Promote outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide it consistently.
Ensure quality standards are met.
Ensure effective merchandising and execution of marketing, pricing promotions, and initiatives according to brand and company standards.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and Contact Lens Sales associates, and in some stores the Receptionist, while ensuring timely completion of daily functions.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining staff.
Lead and coach associates toward sales and customer service goals.
Mentor potential Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
