About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled Optical Manager to join their in-house Optical team. This role involves using professional skills and product expertise to create exceptional customer experiences. The manager will act as a coach and team player, leading the store's Opticians and assisting customers directly. The ideal candidate is a continuous learner, embraces challenges, fosters a positive work environment, and contributes to Warby Parker's growth.

Requirements

  • A licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states).
  • Must have been in a management position for 2+ years.
  • Strong leader and mentor who exhibits model behavior, drives optical metrics, and adheres to strict optical standards.
  • Able to operate with a high sense of professionalism and open-mindedness when making decisions.
  • Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
  • Clear and effective communicator, able to explain technical terms to customers.
  • Dedicated to going above-and-beyond for customers and teammates.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks for self and team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to meet all of their eyewear needs.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
  • Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
  • Manage a team of Opticians through feedback, development conversations, and leading by example.
  • Uphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs to increase customer loyalty.
  • Report to the Store Leader, anticipating staffing needs and overseeing Optician Apprentice Program participants.
  • Stay updated on HR policies to promote a productive and safe culture.
  • Leverage company resources to increase employee engagement and job satisfaction.
  • Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
