Licensed Nursing Assistant II - NICU - Part Time - Nights
About The Position
The Licensed Nursing Assistant II (LNA II) works in Elliot Hospital’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and direct supervision of an RN, the LNA II is an integral member of the care delivery team. The role performs direct and indirect patient care through clinical tasks within the scope of LNA practice and provides personal care and emotional support. Elliot Hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Services address the health and wellness needs of women and children. The NICU is the only Level III newborn intensive care unit in southern New Hampshire. It cares for critically ill babies from 24 weeks’ gestation to term using high-tech resources and a team specializing in premature infant care. The 26-bed unit treats more than 400 critically ill and premature infants each year.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current New Hampshire licensure as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA).
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during the orientation period and maintain it during employment.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living.
- Report observations, symptoms, deviations from normal, and changes in a patient’s condition to the RN.
- Provide basic support to patients and families.
- Document in selected areas of the medical record as appropriate.
