About The Position

Premium Velocity Auto / Jiffy Lube is seeking a Licensed State Motor Vehicle Inspector / Lube Technician to ensure vehicles meet state DMV standards and to help customers feel confident about their vehicles’ safety. The role involves performing vehicle inspections, communicating inspection outcomes, documenting results, and providing preventative maintenance services. The inspector performs multi-point inspections for compliance with emissions standards and state regulations, evaluates vehicle components and systems, and identifies wear, damage, faulty components, illegal equipment, and alignment issues. The role also includes routine maintenance services and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. The position is described as full-time.

Requirements

Hold a valid State Vehicle Inspector License.
Hold a valid driver’s license.
Be able to perform the physical duties of the job, including standing for long periods, lifting 50+ lbs., bending, reaching, crawling, and climbing stairs.
Be comfortable working in enclosed or semi-outdoor environments.
Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
Have basic automotive repair and maintenance knowledge.
Commit to safety procedures and standards.
Be growth-minded and willing to train.
Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Perform multi-point vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with emissions standards and state regulations.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
Communicate pass/fail results, recommend corrective actions, and advise the service team about additional needs.
Inspect vehicles for wear, damage, faulty components, illegal equipment, and alignment issues.
Evaluate key mechanical systems, accessories, electrical circuits, and air lines.
Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid top-offs, and light, wiper, brake, and tire services.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
