About The Position
Southern Mortgage Solutions is a growing, 100% remote mortgage brokerage seeking experienced, self-generating Mortgage Loan Originators. The company was built by a producing Loan Officer and understands the needs of LOs to be competitive, offering strong pricing, broad product options, responsive processing, knowledgeable support, effective technology, and great communication. The goal is to provide talented Loan Officers with the resources to compete while allowing them to focus on relationships and production. This role is ideal for individuals who know how to build relationships, generate business, and want the right platform to grow, whether they are already in the broker channel or experienced retail Loan Officers looking to transition.
Requirements
- Active NMLS number and prior mortgage origination experience
- Active MLO license in a state where Southern Mortgage Solutions operates, or ability to obtain appropriate licensure
- Relationship-driven and comfortable developing referral partners
- Motivated to generate and grow your own production
- Strong mortgage knowledge and ability to structure loan scenarios
- Excellent communication with clients and referral partners
- Self-sufficient and able to thrive in a 100% remote environment
Nice To Haves
- Already in the broker channel
- Experienced retail Loan Officer interested in making the transition to the wholesale side
Responsibilities
- Build relationships

- Develop and maintain referral relationships
- Self-generate and grow their own book of business
- Assist with applications, pre-approval documentation, and borrower needs (as a licensed LOA)
- Utilize in-house marketing resources to develop referral relationships, support events, educate partners, and grow local presence
- Originate and develop referral relationships
- Compete on pricing, find solutions for difficult scenarios, get pre-approvals done after hours, and deliver excellent service
