About The Position

Indigenous Pact PBC, Inc., a certified B-Corporation established in 2017, is dedicated to creating health equity for American Indians and Alaskan Natives. Guardiant Health, an affiliated medical group, provides virtual medical visits to individuals, aiming for best-in-class patient care and empowering members to control their health. The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will provide remote psychotherapy services to individuals in Washington State experiencing mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. This role involves delivering evidence-based interventions, conducting assessments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, primarily serving patients referred from an opioid treatment program. The position requires comfort with telehealth platforms and operates during Pacific Time hours.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university or institution of higher learning in counseling, clinical social work or psychology that focuses on clinical practice.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted license in the State of Washington.
  • 3 years of experience in psychotherapy; inclusive of at least one year delivering telehealth services using appropriate remote tools to virtually connect with patients.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex clinical information effectively to patients, families, and professional colleagues.
  • Patient-centric focus and approach, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and the ability to build therapeutic relationships with diverse populations.
  • Ability to use analytical, logical, and creative problem-solving techniques to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic medical records, ensuring secure and efficient communication and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively, including risk assessments and emergency interventions with the collaboration of the clinic partner.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated on best practices and emerging research in clinical psychology and telehealth treatment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet documentation deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote psychotherapy services to individuals seeking therapy for mental health disorders and/or co-occurring disorders, with referrals from an opioid treatment program.
  • Assess and diagnose patients for mental health/substance use diagnoses using DSM 5 TR and/or ASAM criteria.
  • Prepare individualized treatment plans with patient input and collaboration with relevant providers and supports.
  • Provide diagnostic, treatment, referral, and crisis intervention services in accordance with professional standards.
  • Conduct individual psychotherapy for adults.
  • Coordinate service provision and consult with professional colleagues for optimal patient care, including referrals for psychiatric evaluation or medication.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences with the clinic partner.
  • Conduct risk assessments and referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient records in the Electronic Medical Record according to documentation policies.
  • Participate in committee, departmental, and team meetings as required.
  • Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed therapists, interns, or other mental health professionals as required, including reviewing documentation, providing case consultations, and ensuring adherence to standards.
