About The Position

Logan Health's Newman Center Pediatric Clinic has an opening for an experienced Children's and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist. In this role, you will provide both short-term, problem-focused and long-term therapy to children and adolescents. You will work alongside a dedicated group of mental health therapists, psychiatric providers, registered nurses, and administrative support staff. The clinic is located near the Logan Health Medical Center Campus at 75 Claremont Drive, in Kalispell, MT.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related counseling field required.
• Current Montana LCSW, LCPC or LMFT licensure required.
• Experience providing therapy to children and adolescents is required.
• RQI Responder within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care whichever comes first.
• Ability to analyze, intervene and evaluate a range of psychosocial theory and methods as applicable to assigned area(s).
• Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral health disorders and treatment modalities.

• Three years of fully licensed LCSW, LCPC or LMFT experience highly preferred.
• Possess knowledge of evidenced based practice and experience in assessment, crisis assessment, brief therapies, and clinical case management preferred.
• Possess knowledge of cultural, ethnic, social, historical and spiritual issues relevant to the provision of mental health treatment as applicable to assigned area(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and comprehensive assessments, including diagnostic evaluation, risk assessment, behavioral systems, level of care need, and other information necessary to determine treatment.
• Performs as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, provides consultation, and education services.
• Coordinates patient transitions into services and discharges from treatment. Coordinates care, admissions, and/or referrals with appropriate stakeholders.
• Completes progress notes and documentation in EMR for services provided to patient per department protocol.
• Provides individual, group, and family therapy, clinical case management, and outreach services in an effort to fulfill the patient’s treatment goals, wellness and recovery.
• Participates in development of individual and/or group treatment plans utilizing a variety of brief psychotherapeutic, psychosocial and/or psychoeducational modalities.
• Provides crisis management.
• Works with medical, clinical and support staff to arrange, mobilize, utilize, and coordinate a comprehensive range of community resources that effectively meet the identified patient and family needs.
• Serves as a patient advocate and liaison with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Complies with the legal and regulatory laws, reporting, and practice standards within scope of practice.
• Performs the duties of Utilization Review, precertification, concurrent reviews, and retro reviews.
• Completes data collection, call backs, and identified metrics.
• Analyzes data, presents information, identifies trends, and makes recommendations.
• Maintains databases and analytics regarding admissions, resources, etc.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
