About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Professional provides mental health services to inmates in a correctional facility. The role includes conducting intake evaluations and assessments, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide-prevention services, developing treatment plans, and monitoring the clinical needs of patients on the professional’s caseload. The position also includes responding to sick-call requests, supporting medication adherence, coordinating with prescribing providers, providing staff training, and documenting care in accordance with company and facility policies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
• At least one year of experience in a mental health treatment program.
• Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist; must maintain all licensures, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
• Must reside in the United States.

• Experience in a correctional or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening, assessments, and triage for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, or other community sources, and recommend an appropriate level of care.
• Develop and recommend treatment plans; provide essential treatment services, including psychoeducational and transitional groups; and provide suicide-prevention interventions and management techniques.
• Respond to sick-call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
• Provide crisis intervention and oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team and administrative meetings.
• Provide staff training on relevant mental health topics.
• Document findings in patient health records and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.
