About The Position

Small Talk Pediatric Therapy is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to provide individualized mental health care to children, adolescents, and families. Requirements

  • A master’s degree in counseling or a related field that meets LMHC licensure requirements.
  • Current LMHC licensure appropriate to the role before starting clinical work.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and counseling skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to ethical, individualized, evidence-based care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families is preferred.
  • Training in developmentally appropriate approaches, including play-based interventions, is welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based counseling appropriate to each client’s age, developmental needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Support children and adolescents with emotional regulation, coping skills, relationships, and behavioral concerns.
  • Involve parents and caregivers when clinically appropriate to support progress beyond the session.
  • Assess safety concerns, develop safety plans, and coordinate additional support or referrals when needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child’s care while maintaining appropriate consent and confidentiality.
  • Maintain timely, accurate assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other clinical documentation.
  • Bring curiosity and ideas to the ongoing improvement of our mental health services.
