About The Position

Toyota Insurance is seeking a result-driven Licensed Insurance Agent to work on-site within a partner Toyota dealership in San Francisco, California. This independent agency specializes in property and casualty insurance for Toyota vehicle owners, offering coverage through trusted carrier partners for vehicles, homes, and other assets. The mission is to enhance the Toyota ownership experience by improving the insurance experience. The agent will drive new business across home, auto, and other personal line products and meet with referral contacts to generate new business within the dealership environment. This role is situated at the intersection of sales, relationship management, and customer experience, meeting customers during a significant life event (purchasing a car) to help them protect their home, car, and family.

Requirements

  • Valid California Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of insurance sales experience.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Ability to interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
  • Dealership sales awareness - understands and respects the automotive sales process; understands the F&I workflow and knows how to time insurance conversations as a complement to the closing process.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – must be engaging and personable.
  • Ability to interact with customers.
  • Consultative Selling - ability to quickly build rapport, identify customer needs, and present insurance solutions in a customer-first manner.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • High-level organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Expert level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Must already hold work eligibility for the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect and engage new customers within the dealership environment.
  • Assess client’s unique situations and recommend insurance plans that provide optimal protection.
  • Serve as the go-to insurance expert in the dealership and the primary contact for customers seeking coverage.
  • Leverage a proven approach to ensure clients receive the right coverage and exceptional service.
  • Actively connect with current and potential clients, fostering trust and loyalty through clear communication and follow-up.
  • Prospect new customers and convert dealership traffic into closed policies across auto, home, and personal lines.
  • Build relationships with dealership staff and referral contacts who provide warm leads.
  • Collaborate with dealership colleagues to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Proactively seek out new opportunities through phone outreach, networking, and other lead generation strategies.
