About The Position

Skillforce is seeking licensed Journeyman Electricians for a night-shift team performing electrical maintenance throughout the DC area. The ideal candidate has at least five years of electrical maintenance experience and a valid license. This is a temp-to-perm position with a six-month probation period, paying $36–$38 per hour depending on experience. The overnight/PM shift runs from 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

Requirements

Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification.
OSHA 10/30 safety training certification.
At least five years of experience as a licensed electrician in the construction industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes applicable to Washington, DC.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, conduit bending, panel installation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Ensure electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
Inspect and test electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
Collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute electrical installations within project timelines and budgets.
Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment and implement solutions promptly.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to minimize job-site risks.
