About The Position

Skillforce is seeking licensed Journeyman Electricians to perform electrical maintenance throughout the DC area as part of a day-shift team. The role is temp-to-perm, with a six-month probation period, and pays $36–$38 per hour. The listed day-shift schedule is 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The ideal candidate has at least five years of electrical maintenance experience and a valid electrician license. The position involves installing, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems while following applicable codes and safety standards.

Requirements

Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification.
OSHA 10/30 safety training certification.
At least five years of experience as a licensed electrician in the construction industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes applicable to Washington, DC.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, conduit bending, panel installation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Ensure electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute electrical installations within project timelines and budgets.
Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment, and implement solutions promptly.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to minimize risk on job sites.
