About The Position

This position involves exercising safe working practices, cleaning, and complying with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures. The role requires troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment, including motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems. This is done in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments. The job also emphasizes excellent customer service, preparing and executing service calls (Emergency Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance), reporting service calls internally and to the customer, and advising on and executing system optimizations in consultation with a supervisor. Additional duties include analyzing system performance, monitoring systems from a Control Room, controlling and proposing improvements for the service process quality, developing service supporting tools, performing Preventive Maintenance and following up on CM work orders, un-jamming conveyors, researching and requesting spare parts, performing inventory counts, and completing CMMS Service Reports, Parts Usage, and Warranty Records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance
  • PR Master Electrician or Electrician Assistance License
  • Requires understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings/prints
  • Able to lift baggage weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Available to work scheduled shifts, which may require work at night, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise safe working practice at all times.
  • Clean BHS areas and BHS equipment.
  • Comply with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals and manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and execute service calls, Emergency Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Report service calls internally and to customer.
  • Advise and execute optimization of (sub) systems, consulting the supervisor.
  • Analyze system performance (and the operator influence).
  • Monitor system from Control Room.
  • Control and propose improvements for the quality of the service process.
