About The Position

The Licensed Counselor/Site Supervisor will provide individual counseling services to students, including intake, diagnosis, treatment planning, and progress monitoring. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care, crisis intervention, and detailed documentation in an Electronic Health Care record following Medicaid guidelines. Additionally, the position includes supervising unlicensed interns and counselors, conducting educational outreach to students, faculty, and staff, and attending various meetings to assess counseling's contribution to university goals. The role also requires attending continuing education opportunities to maintain licensure and enhance skills for supervising unlicensed staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • Licensure as LCSW or LPC in the State of Colorado
  • Experience supervising interns and unlicensed professionals
  • Ability to submit evidence of the ability to accept work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling services to students, including initial intake, diagnostic impression, treatment plan development, and progress determination.
  • Collaborate with other counselors, the Wolfpack Wellness Team, psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychiatrist, and Director of the Wolfpack Counseling Center to ensure appropriate student care.
  • Refer students for psychological testing or to other mental health providers as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention on campus for students in imminent danger to self or others, arranging transport for evaluation and treatment.
  • Complete comprehensive documentation in the Electronic Health Care record, adhering to Medicaid guidelines, including intake information, diagnostic impressions, assessments, progress notes, crisis interventions, contacts, treatment plans, and goals.
  • Document progress toward goals and interventions utilized in each session.
  • Determine the need for referrals for other services if progress is not shown or if the student requires additional support.
  • Supervise unlicensed interns and unlicensed counselors.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with unlicensed counseling staff to ensure protocol compliance and support professional development.
  • Review supervisees' notes to ensure they meet counseling center guidelines and requirements.
  • Provide educational outreach to students, faculty, and staff on mental health issues through presentations and training.
  • Attend staff, department, and division meetings to assess counseling's impact on departmental, divisional, and university missions and goals.
  • Attend continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge base and maintain licensure and/or certifications.
