About The Position

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center (SEMHC) is offering a unique opportunity for a Licensed Clinician to join their Older Adult Services (OAS) program. This program serves individuals aged 60 and older who are dealing with serious mental illness or addiction challenges, providing treatment both in the clinic and the community. The goal is to deliver integrated behavioral health services that foster mental well-being and collaborate effectively with the client's entire medical care team. The OAS team is led by a clinical psychologist and a clinical supervisor, and it comprehensively provides or ensures access to the 9-core CCBHC services. This role is part of a pilot program offering a 4-day, 32-hour workweek, paid for 40 hours, promoting team member self-care.

Requirements

Master’s degree in a behavioral health or human services field that meets Indiana licensure requirements for the following associate licenses: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
Active and unencumbered clinical licensure in the State of Indiana (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC).
Applicants who are within six months of obtaining their clinical licensure are encouraged to apply.
Valid Indiana driver’s license that meets Eskenazi Health’s driving policy requirements.
Advanced understanding of EBP.
Ability to implement EBP to standards as defined by Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center.
Understanding of and ability to implement a strengths-based, community treatment model.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be both clear and concise in written and verbal communications.
Advanced knowledge of psychiatric/addiction diagnoses and understanding of their impact on behavior and all life domains.
Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medications and their uses and side effects.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based practices (EBP) specific to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) certification.
Manage a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative, and case management needs.
Engage other team members in meeting identified client needs.
Collaborate with other team members to address and fulfill identified needs, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated effort.
Implement effective and evidence-informed interventions to support the well-being and progress of individuals and their families.
Embrace, understand, and operate under the Recovery Model, including AIDET and motivational interviewing.
Adhere to regulatory requirements for CCBHC regarding client treatment, including crisis prevention and safety planning.
Deliver treatment to fidelity of therapeutic interventions and treatment models specific to the population served, utilizing advanced certifications and skills in EBPs.
Prepare clinical treatment plans and complete biopsychosocial evaluations (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary in consultation with the client, family, and treatment team.
Provide quality case management services as indicated by client need.
Monitor client progress and reflect this in clinical documentation.
Evaluate and update the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client, family, and team.
Provide care coordination, skills training, and development to clients in group and individual settings as guided by medical necessity outlined in the person-centered treatment plan.
Provide crisis management and emergency interventions, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and approved area-specific crisis intervention techniques.
Report to treatment team in staffing, including successes and challenges, assessment of client progress, barriers to success, and any level of care changes.
Advocate for clients to ensure access to needed services, which includes developing community relationships and resources.
Meet the agency’s standard of providing the appropriate service at the right time, right place, and right frequency as determined by the client’s level of need.
Meet the agency’s standard of timely completion of all documentation, including interpreting and applying service and billing procedures according to client needs, and completing billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy.
Serve as a clinical resource for less experienced staff.
Establish and maintain a safe environment at all times through on-going assessment of milieu/appointment environment and intervening as indicated in the person-centered treatment plan as well as by nursing or physician order.
Identify any high-risk client symptoms or circumstances that would result in risk for self-harm or harm to others and notify appropriate higher-level clinical staff for consultation.
Continuously evaluate clients' mental status, reporting progress to the team and treating psychiatrist.
Identify community resources and assist clients in their access to these resources.
