About The Position

Colonial Behavioral Health (CBH) provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their families affected by mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. CBH proudly serves the citizens of James City County, the City of Poquoson, the City of Williamsburg, and York County. We are currently seeking multiple Clinician IVs to join our Adult Outpatient Department. Clinician IVs provide direct, evidence-based therapeutic services to adults and older adults experiencing co-occurring substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and/or developmental disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to provide person-centered clinical care while collaborating with individuals, families, community partners, and other professionals to support recovery, stability, and improved quality of life.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a human services field required.
  • Current, valid Virginia licensure through the Board of Counseling or Board of Social Services, as applicable, including LPC, LCSW, or LCP.
  • A valid driver’s license/record is required.
  • DMV record must be submitted with application.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to treat co-occurring disorders including knowledge of group counseling techniques, family systems, and motivational interviewing
  • Must be able to prepare a comprehensive recovery-oriented treatment plan according to agency guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain an objective, professional and calm relationship with individuals and groups in a stressful situation
  • At least one year of professional experience working with individuals experiencing serious mental health conditions and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive clinical assessments, evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized service planning for the population served.
  • Provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling and psychotherapy to adults and older adults.
  • Deliver services through both in-person and telehealth modalities, as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, recovery-oriented treatment plans in accordance with agency guidelines and applicable standards.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions that address co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation, including clinical reports and required entries in electronic and manual health information records.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a clinical consultant to agency staff and community partners regarding assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, coordination of services, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with individuals, families, treatment teams, and community providers to promote continuity of care and positive treatment outcomes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
