About The Position

Adjuvant seeks an empathetic, experienced mental health professional to provide counseling to cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. Guided by the clinic’s mission, the therapist uses a respectful, constructive, and energetic approach to facilitate hope and change for clients affected by cancer. This is a fully remote role. The therapist accepts referrals and maintains a client load of at least 18 hours per week. Pay is $55–$60 per hour.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Two years of professional-level experience in a counselor setting.
Current and active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in Tennessee.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of healthcare experience in oncology.
At least 1 year of experience in telehealth settings.

Responsibilities

Counsel clients individually and/or in family sessions to help them overcome dependencies, adjust to life, or make changes.
Make internal referrals to IOP when there is little to no improvement after 8 weeks of outpatient therapy.
Guide clients in developing skills or strategies for addressing their problems.
Develop treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establishing SMART goals with patients; complete plans within 72 hours of intake and update or modify them every 4 weeks.
Complete and maintain client paperwork, including diagnostic records and progress notes; complete progress notes within 48 hours after each session.
Prepare and maintain required treatment records and reports.
Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on a review of client information.
Collaborate with staff on clinical assessments or treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with an existing patient.
Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary.
Keep current on counseling developments through professional literature, courses, seminars, and contact with other social service agencies.
Accept referrals and maintain a client load of at least 18 hours per week.
